About 3 kms from Villechaise situated on the Vienne river.
It is the sous prefecture of Charente.
It is a beautiful town straddling both sides of the Vienne, best
known for its
festival of folklore and music.
Confolens is the
sous prefecture of Charente so has an impressive range
of administrative buildings totally out of keeping with its size as
a town.
These together with the commercial premises and houses go right up to
the river banks on both sides of the river..

The festival is usually the second week in August and more

Festival of folkloric dance and music.
The town prides itself on its walks and to find out more go into
